Minutes of the meeting of the Rush Township Board of Supervisors

A meeting was held at
the Rush Township Municipal Building on January 6, 2014 at 7:30 o’clock p.m. In
attendance were: Chairman Shawn Gilbert,
Vice Chairman Robert Leibensperger, Supervisor Jeaninne Motroni,
Secretary/Treasurer Darlene Fenstermacher, Attorney Chris Reidlinger,
Consultant William McMullen and 9 residents.

Chairman Gilbert called the meeting to order.

Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

PUBLIC COMMENT

Pat Tracy – asked if there were any complaints

Charlie Shamonsky – How much do we get from the auction?
Check into raising price of contract.

Chris Huegel – To work on road crew do you need a CDL
license.

POLICE REPORT – Sergeant Duane Fredrick read his report for
the month as of December 31th, 2013. A
motion was made by Vice Chairman Leibensperger to approve Sergeant Fredrick’s
report. Chairman Gilbert seconded the motion. Ms. Fenstermacher polled the
Board. All members voted in favor of the
motion, carried.

Minutes of Previous Meeting – December 19, 2013- A motion
was made by Vice-Chairman Leibensperger to approve the previous meeting minutes
of December 19, 2013. Chairman
Gilbert seconded the motion. Ms. Fenstermacher
polled the Board. All members voted in
favor of the motion, carried.

Treasurer’s Report – Not available

Approval of Current Township and Sewer
Bills for January 31, 2014

A motion was
made by Vice-Chairman Leibensperger to approve all current township and sewer
bills for January 2014. Chairman Gilbert
seconded the motion. Ms. Fenstermacher
polled the Board. All members voted in
favor of the motion, carried.

Approval of
municipal reports (sewer, road, Arro) through December 31, 2013

A motion was made by Vice-Chairman Leibensperger to approve
the municipal reports through December 31, 2013. Chairman Gilbert seconded the
motion. Ms. Fenstermacher polled the Board.
All members voted in favor of the motion, carried.

CORRESPONDENCE
– Lehigh Valley Business, Link,
Monitor, Lehigh Valley Book of Lists.

ATTORNEY’S BUSINESS – Summary judgement filed to dismiss Heckman
case.

NEW BUSINESS

A motion was made by
Vice Chairman Leibensperger to complete the salt contract participation
agreement with co-stars for August 2014 through July 2015. Chairman Gilbert
seconded the motion. Ms. Fenstermacher polled the Board. All members voted in
favor of the motion, carried.

A motion was made by Vice Chairman Leibensperger to purchase
a 2015 Mack GU432 Plow Truck with body & hydraulics through the co-stars
program for $137,913.56. Chairman Gilbert seconded the motion. Ms.
Fenstermacher polled the Board. Leibensperger and Gilbert voted in favor of the
motion and Motroni voted NO. Motion carried.

A motion was made by
Vice Chairman Leibensperger to purchase floating lift station degreaser and
weed killer. Chairman Gilbert seconded the motion. Ms. Fenstermacher polled the
Board. All members voted in favor of the motion, carried.

A motion was made by Vice Chairman Leibensperger to purchase
sewer solvent for root and grease control. Chairman Gilbert seconded the
motion. Ms. Fenstermacher polled the Board. All members voted in favor of the
motion, carried.

A motion was made by Vice Chairman Leibensperger to appoint
Pat Tracy to the Rush Township Board of Auditors. Chairman Gilbert seconded the
motion. Ms. Fenstermacher polled the Board. Leibensperger and Gilbert voted in
favor of the motion, Motroni voted NO. Motion carried.

SUPERVISORS
COMMENT

The Township will be
collecting Christmas Trees on January 24, 2014, please call the office to be
put on pick up list.

Chairman Gilbert adjourned the meeting at 7:55 o’clock pm.
