Emergency Management Agency

We are here to protect the lives and property of the citizens of Rush TWP.

The Rush Township Emergency Management Agency is responsible for the protection of the lives and property of the citizens: It exercises primary supervision and control over the four phases of emergency management (mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery) and activities within the municipality.

Rush Township municipal Emergency Management Coordinator (EMC), Chris Hartz, has been appointed by the governor and acts on behalf of the elected officials. An Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has been designated by the municipality, Rush Township Municipal Building and may be activated by the EMC, Deputy EMC, or the elected officials during an emergency.  Josh Grim has been appointed by the Supervisors as the Assistant EMA Coordinator.

An EOP has been prepared to provide information in emergencies. It identifies resources within the municipality that can be used to respond to emergency or disaster situations and requests needed resources from the Schuylkill County EMA.

Contact the EMA for emergency situations by calling Schuylkill County 911. Give them your name, address and explain the emergency.

At this time they will determine which responders will be dispatched. Hometown Fire Company is usually dispatched at the same time as the EMA is notified. This is to assure your safety.

Please note the direct number to call the Rush Township Emergency Management office is 570-225-7280 and the fax number is 570-225-7281. You may also contact via email: rushEMA@rushtownship.org.

If you would like to be a volunteer to help coordinate activities please call this number and leave your name and number or send an email. We will contact you so you can help us during emergency situations.
